Seagulls

Of The Wild Atlantic

Wild Atlantic Way

Seagulls are incredibly intelligent birds and have been observed using tools, solving problems, and learning behaviours from each other. For example, some seagulls have learned to drop hard-shelled prey, like clams or crabs, onto rocks to break them open. Others have been seen following plowing tractors to feast on exposed insects or even stealing food from other animals using clever distractions.

Seagulls have been immortalised in literature, most notably in Richard Bach’s “Jonathan Livingston Seagull,” which explores themes of freedom and self-discovery.
